As the name suggests it is an in-service training programme for teachers mainly to improve their professional knowledge , skills and attitudes to enhance their effectivity in the classroom teaching.
The role of a teacher today has become quite challenging to meet with the every increasing demand and ever widening expectations from the school system due to the advancement in technology and changing social patterns of human life.
Mira The Happy School as ever – has realized the need of the time and decided to meet with this challenge by conducting this PEP programme on regular basis for the total teacher community of Vadodara and outside too.
A brainstorming session was conducted inviting eminent educationists of Vadodara including many Principals and teachers of Vadodara. The programme profile was presented as under:
1. Sessions on each Saturday will be conducted to discuss / share the following points under the able guidance of resource persons.
2. The aims/objectives and skills to be developed.
3. Effective strategies in teaching and learning.
4. Difficulties faced by students and teachers to understand particular topics in the concerned subject.
5. Evaluation pattern.
6. Innovation, experiments and research findings carried out by the teachers.
It was our proud privilege to have Dr. M.P. Chhaya our senior educationist (who has recently compiled his E – book C.D. on effective teaching) to preside the first make to the learning experiences being dynamic meaningful and relevant to today’s divergent world. “The teacher should be willing to develop various skills at any stage as teaching is an art involving certain learned skills and that with the knowledge of these skills creative imagination and talent – a teacher can motivate students to learn”. Dr. Lulla, enclosing these views said that , “ As the candle burns continuously to emit the light of knowledge”.
Pusphanatham Sir from the Dept. of Education and Psychology, M.S University appreciated the programme and said that “Coming together is a beginning keeping together is progress and working together was success”.
Active participation of the teacher community of Vododara will add more stars to our Professional Enrichment Programme.
